The well known menu of Gosenjaku, \u201cSanzoku-yaki\u201d set meal<\/h3>\n

\u201cSanzoku-yaki\u201d is a well know dish of Matsumoto prefecture with a nice big volume.
\nThe chicken leg is soaked in a special sauce, and is fried until it is juicy and the skin is crispy. This is a very tasty local dish of \u201cShinshu\u201d Matsumoto that will entertain you both with sight and taste.<\/p>\n

The history of \u201cSanzoku-yaki\u201d<\/h4>\n

It is said to have started about 50 years ago. It is a very popular local dish in the central Shinano area of Nagano prefecture (Matsumoto city, Shiojiri city, and Azumino city). There are several origins to the name.
\nThe most famous one is that a long time ago, there were bandits (Sanzoku) that were stealing from the visitors. The word for stealing in Japanese is \u201cToriage\u201d, and fried chicken in Japanese is also \u201cToriage\u201d. It is said to have started from this story and the words, and the image of the outrageous bandits is performed on a dish by dynamically using the whole chicken leg.<\/p>\n

Gosenjaku Spicy Pork Curry<\/h3>\n

A special curry supervised by the master chef of Gosenjaku hotel!
\nIt is a very spicy curry that uses over 20 types of spice with big cuts of meat and vegetables.
\nWe also offer a curry pack, \u201cGosenjaku Spicy Pork Curry \u201d as a souvenir at the souvenir store on the 1st floor.<\/p>\n
